I came across the following video on YouTube. It purports to show “hilarious” (read: awful) trailers for probably funnier (read: worse) 1970s horror movies, mostly of the Italian persuasion. But when I watch it, all I see is a bunch of 1970s awesomeness.
Now, I’ve seen some of the flicks featured here and, granted, they aren’t masterpieces—but they definitely are worth seeing. Beyond the Door is a total rip-off of The Exorcist, but I enjoyed it. And The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave might not be amazing, but it’s absolutely entertaining. What can I say about Lady Frankenstein except, hey, it stars Joseph Cotten and Mickey Hargitay, and it was directed in 1971 by Mel Welles (the Roger Corman regular who played Gravis Mushnik in The Little Shop of Horrors and Jules Deveroux in Attack of the Crab Monsters). What else do you need? I hear all that and I’m there.
Anyway, I call upon you to watch the following clip and decide for yourself: hilarious or hella-awesome. One man’s trash…
